Remembering Laundry

If you have been a reader of this blog for awhile you may remember this post I did about laundry detergents? Well, I finally have got around to using the homemade laundry soap. I must say that it works wonderfully. Then again, this is the winter time when our clothes aren't as dirty as say, spring or mud season as I refer to it.  I am saving the next bucket of soap for the spring and will give you an update then as to how well it works.

Have you used this soap or another homemade soap before? What are your thoughts on it? What kind of laundry soap do you find works the best for you?

Enjoy your day!

I have a recipe for homemade laundry detergent but I haven't used it yet. What sized pot did you use to heat up your mixture? Should you only use it for making soap making purposes or would you be able to cook in it afterwards? My biggest set back is finding a pot big enough and one that I would be willing to use strictly for detergent making. I might try your recipe instead, it seems to make a smaller amount.

Well I haven't made laundry soap but I have just made and am trying home made facial cleanser so I'll let you know how that works out.

I'm starting to get into making my own cleaning products.

So far I've made my own "baby wipes". Using water, aloe, tea tree oil, Vit E and natural soap(locally made) I've made an awesome solition for wiping my babe down. It's leaves her and me super smooth and the tea tree helps battle fungal and bacteria issues. We use face clothes and reused wipes from Costco (since they're 100% cotton) and wash along side our cloth diapers.

I also used this to wipe my face when I'm in a rush and don't have a few moments to spare on.

Easier on the pocket book and the environment.

My next task...homemade, septic friendly toilet bowl cleaner...

Thanks Chrissy_V! I would love to hear your recipes for these products and how you feel they compare to those wipes that you can buy.

This is definitely and avenue that I want to start discussing on here. Keep coming back!

I've made 3 recipes of homemade laundry soap so far and it works great. My husband gets his clothing quite dirty (especially his jeans) at work and it works just as well as any other name brand I've also used on his clothes. So I wouldn't worry about the "spring muddy season". It is a huge savings and great for front load, high efficiency washers as it doesn't make lots of suds.
